Time Out 'eight' well at Belfast's Cayenne restaurant

Belfast restaurant Cayenne has taken eighth place in the Time Out Guide to Eating and Drinking in Great Britain and Ireland, one of only two restaurants in Ireland to make it into the top 10.

A hand-picked panel of just over 500 national and regional restaurant critics, food writers, chefs, restaurateurs and food policy advisors were asked to vote for their favourite restaurants nationwide.

L’Ecrivain in Dublin was the only other Irish restaurant to make the list.

Describing Cayenne, the Time Out guide reads: “Paul and Jeanne Rankin’s Cayenne offers a well-priced, cross cultural menu of inventive dishes….Service is spot on.”

Although London is acknowledged as the UK’s gastronomic capital, six out of the UK’s top ten restaurants this year were outside the capital.
