Tyrone Firm Secures French Supermarket Deal
A Tyrone-based baby food manufacturing company have secured a major deal in France with assistance from Invest Northern Ireland.
Heavenly Tasty Organics Ltd, which supplies baby foods and snack products made from organically-grown fruits and vegetables, will supply 49 supermarkets and 15 hypermarkets throughout France with its New Organic Superfood snack range, in a deal estimated to be worth £100,000.
Congratulating the company, Olive Hill, Invest NI's Director of Trade said: "This major export contract for Heavenly Tasty Organics is a result of the company's commitment to future growth and is a great achievement for a small Northern Ireland brand.
"We have had a long standing relationship with the company and it most recently participated in an Invest NI Trade mission to the SIAL Food Exhibition in France in 2014 which gave it the space to explore opportunities to do business in the French market.
"We also provided the company with support through our Trade Advisory Service which assists both new and experienced exporters with help in a number of areas including market research, lead generation, programme arranging, general advice and support with market visits.
"We are keen to continue to support small companies like Heavenly Tasty Organics that have the potential to grow through export opportunities. This customised support is readily available to Northern Ireland companies of all sizes which share Heavenly Tasty's determination to win new business in overseas markets."
Shauna McCarney-Blair, Managing Director of Heavenly Tasty Organics said "We are delighted to have secured this breakthrough deal with the Casino Group in France. We first came into contact with the Casino Group through participation on an Invest NI Trade Mission to the SIAL Food Exhibition in Paris. The Exhibition gave us a unique opportunity to showcase our fantastic products to buyers from supermarkets and food retailers throughout the world and in turn has opened many doors for us.
"The expert guidance and on the ground support provided by Invest NI has also been invaluable providing us with expert advice on packaging, translation and an overall better understanding of the French market which was instrumental in helping us to secure this deal.
"Our new range of organics superfood baby snacks will be stocked on supermarket and hypermarket shelves throughout France and although at this point the deal is on a trial basis we recognise that success in France will give us a platform for further growth in other parts of Europe and will lead to even more opportunities in the future."
