Two Men Arrested Over Serious Sexual Assault

Two men have been arrested after a woman was seriously sexually assaulted in Co Down.

The attack occurred in the Bangor area in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The suspects, both aged 23, were detained after officers stopped a car on the Seacliff Road in Bangor on Monday afternoon.

The vehicle was also seized for examination.

The woman, in her 20s, was walking along High Street shortly before 2am when she was offered a lift home by two unknown men.

She walked into Holburn Avenue Car Park and got into the rear seat of the car.

They drove out of the car park and travelled towards Groomsport. The males stopped the car in a dark area where the victim was sexually assaulted.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
