Alliance Candidates For South Belfast Named

Councillor Paula Bradshaw and Duncan Morrow have been named as Alliance's candidates for South Belfast for next year's Assembly election.

Councillor Bradshaw, who was elected to Belfast City Council in 2014, is a community worker in the Village area of South Belfast, while Mr Morrow is a leading community relations expert and political commentator.

Councillor Bradshaw said voters in the constituency were fed up with political infighting and stalemate caused by the tribal politics, a blockage that could only be solved by Alliance.

"Alliance is the alternative that works, which is why the people of South Belfast have continually backed the party in election after election and given Alliance a strong presence in the area.

"South Belfast has had fantastic representation from Anna Lo MLA over the past number of years. Duncan and I would be honoured to increase that by doubling the amount of Alliance MLAs in the next Assembly term."

Mr Morrow said he was inspired to step forward for Alliance because of the party's vision and courage.

"South Belfast and wider Northern Ireland society needs Alliance - the message of for everyone is not simply a slogan but a creed the party believes in and adheres to.

"Only Alliance can truly remove the divisions that exist to help create the diverse, welcoming and shared society the vast majority of people want."
