Man Shot In Leg In North Belfast
A man has been shot in the leg in north Belfast.
The incident happened in the Butler Walk area at around 10pm on Tuesday.
The victim went to answer a knock at the door and before opening it he heard a loud bang and realised he had been shot in the leg.
He received hospital treatment, however his injuries are not believed to be lift threatening.
Detective Inspector Peter Mullan said: "This is an appalling incident which has not only caused injury and distress to the male, but also significant upset and distress to his partner and their four young children who were at home during the incident.
"I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact Detectives at Musgrave Reactive and Organised Crime on the non-emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Man Jailed In Connection With Annahilt Cannabis Farm
The PSNI has welcomed the sentencing of a man at Craigavon Crown Court in connection with a cannabis farm disovered in Annahilt in February, 2023. Clive Weir, from the Annahilt area, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 18 months on licence.

A 33-year-old man has been extradited from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland to face serious charges. The man is accused of assault causing harm, coercive control, contravention of a safety order, theft, and possession of a weapon.
