DUP MLA Appointed Junior Minister

DUP MLA Emma Pengelly has been appointed as Junior Minister in the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister (OFMDFM).

Mrs Pengelly currently sits on the Finance Committee.

First Minister Peter Robinson said: "I have every confidence that Emma will be an excellent Junior Minister. She has a vast and in-depth knowledge of the many issues the Department deals with and I have no doubt that she will use her experience, commitment and talent to drive initiatives forward that will improve the lives of everyone in Northern Ireland."

Mrs Pengelly said: "I am delighted to accept the appointment of Junior Minister in OFMDFM. I have developed a sound understanding of my new role through my experience as a Special Adviser and I look forward to the challenges that this new post will present me with."

Junior Ministers Aisling Reilly and Pam Cameron have met with six suppliers who will develop new tech solutions to tackle violence against women and girls. The six suppliers were selected as part of the Executive's Strategic Framework to End Violence Against Women and Girls.

Lidl Northern Ireland Opens Two New Stores
Lidl Northern Ireland has announced the reopening of its Stewartstown Road store in West Belfast and the opening of a new store in Carryduff. The Stewartstown Road store, which has undergone a major redevelopment, will reopen on December 5th. The new Carryduff store, Lidl’s 43rd in Northern Ireland, will open on December 12th.
