Woman Arrested After Pedestrian Killed In Belfast

A woman has been arrested after she struck and killed a pedestrian in south Belfast.

The man, aged in his 30s, died after being hit by a car at around 11.20pm on Sunday.

A 34-year-old woman was arrested a short time later on suspicion of a number of motoring offences and is currently being detained by the police.

The road was closed between Cadogan Park and Cranmore Park, however it has reopened.

Elsewhere, an 18-year-old woman has been arrested after a pensioner died in a collision in Ballycastle.

The crash occurred at around 1.45pm on Sunday.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

SDLP North Antrim Representative Connor Duncan said: "I want to extend my deepest sympathies to both the victim and her family at this difficult time.

"I would urge all drivers in the area to exercise caution on the roads, especially as we move into the winter months when road conditions will worsen."

Police Investigate Shooting Incident In L'Derry
