Teenager Stabbed In West Belfast
An 18-year-old man has been stabbed in west Belfast.
The incident happened in the Cullingtree Road area at around 6am on Sunday.
The victim is believed to be in a critical condition in hospital.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Reid said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, which is believed to have occurred in and around 6.00am this morning, to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime, Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
SDLP West Belfast MLA Alex Attwood said: "The man suffered knife wounds which have left him in a serious condition in hospital.
"This is the second attack of this nature to have happened in West Belfast in recent days. My thoughts are with the victims and their families at this time.
"There is growing concern about the rise in knife crime attacks in Belfast. Any level of knife crime is unacceptable, and more needs to be done to deal with knife crime in our society."
