Dodds Meets With Michelin Representatives
DUP MEP Diane Dodds MEP has met with Michelin representatives in the European Parliament, Brussels.
She was given assurances that £5 million will be made available to assist the local community with new employment start-ups.
She said: "I emphasised what a devastating blow this is for their staff in Northern Ireland and pressed for assurances that they uphold their word in relation to redundancy packages.
"I have also been given assurances that £5 million will be made available to assist the local community with new employment start-ups. The Michelin Development Community Fund, I hope, will go some way in introducing new employment opportunities in North Antrim and breathe new life into the area that has been hit so hard over the years with various factory closures."
