Stormont Talks To Resume

Talks between political parties are to resume in Stormont later today, amid growing speculation that a deal could be reached by the end of the week.

The talks, which started in September, will focus on budget and welfare reform and paramilitary activity.

Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny met with First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness on Monday.

Mr Kenny said: "These discussions have been going on for quite some time..

"They have been discussing various points over the last number of weeks and I would be hopeful that, having had briefings from the minister for foreign affairs (Charlie Flanagan) in respect of these discussions, that they might be able to be concluded this week."
