Over 40 Temporary Jobs To Go At Schrader Electronics

Over 40 temporary workers are to lose their jobs at the Schrader Electronics factory in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim.

A total of 42 temporary employees will be axed from the plant before the end of this year.

Alliance East Antrim MLA Stewart Dickson said he is "deeply concerned".

He said: "It is particularly worrying, given this announcement comes the same day Northern Ireland's unemployment rate was announced as having fallen.

"We must do what we can to lessen the impact on the affected employees and I will be discussing the issue with my colleague, Employment and Learning Minister Stephen Farry, to help do just that."
