Investigation Launched After House Damaged In Carrowdore

A County Down couple have escaped injury after a "loud bang" caused extensive damage to their home in Carrowdore.

Police have launched an investigation after damage was caused to an oil tank, windows and the back door of the property in the Main Street area at around 3.20am on Wednesday.

The house has been sealed off and officers are looking into the circumstances and motive for the incident.

The occupants, aged in their 60s, were not injured.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Building Petrol Bombed In North Belfast
A building has been extensively damaged following a petrol bomb attack in north Belfast. Police received a report of a building being on fire and the NI Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene on Sunday at around 1.30am. A number of windows were smashed and three petrol bombs were thrown in.

Petrol Bomb Damages House In Belfast
A house in south Belfast has been left damaged following a petrol bomb attack. Police said the device was thrown at the front door of a property in Agra Street at around 9.20pm on Tuesday. A window to the property suffered minor scorch damage. It is thought a brick was also thrown at the house, smashing a window.
