Teenager Critically Injured In Co Down Crash

Police are appealing for information after a teenager was critically injured in a road collision in Co Down.

The crash, which involved a car and a van, occurred on the Burren Road, just outside Warrenpoint, at around 2.20pm on Friday.

Inspector Stephen Graham said: "One passenger from the BMW is reported to have been seen making off from the scene across nearby fields whilst the driver of the car remained trapped in the vehicle."

The 18-year-old victim was airlifted to hospital where he is believed to be in a serious condition.

The van driver was also hurt in the crash, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The road has been reopened.

Woman Dies In Co Down Road Crash
A woman has died in a three vehicle crash in Co Down. The crash happened on the Belfast Road in Saintfield just before 6pm on Thursday, 06 July. A man is in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
