Funeral Of Joe McDermott Takes Place In Omagh

The funeral of Joe McDermott, one of the two men killed on a building site in Western Australia, has taken place in Omagh, Co Tyrone.

Mr McDermott was killed alongside Gerard Bradley from L'Derry after a concrete slab fell on them at a construction site in Perth.

An investigation has been launched.

Mr McDermott's funeral took place at the Sacred Heart Church in Omagh.

Major Drug Bust In Omagh Linked To INLA
Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force have made a significant drug seizure in Omagh. Officers searched a van in the Doogary Road area on Thursday morning, 21st November, and recovered a substantial quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of £750,000.

Two NI Men Who Died On A Construction Site In Australia Named
Two men from Northern Ireland who died on a construction site in Australia have been named as Joe McDermott and Gerard Bradley. Mr Bradley from Portstewart and Mr McDermott from Omagh were crushed by a concrete slab in Perth on Wednesday morning. The men were both in their 20s. Mr Bradley was a member of the Eoghan Rua GAA club.

'Other Abusers' Sought As Brothers Volunteer For Psychiatric Treatment
The police are to carry out further investigations of child sex abuse in the border village of Donagh. It has transpired that a victim of Fermanagh brothers James and Owen Roe McDermott, has alleged other people took part in the abuse and he said the pair were alleged to have passed information about their victims to other paedophiles.
