DPP member refuses to resign following attack
An independent member of Strabane's District Policing Partnership (DPP) has refused to resign her position despite an attack on a car at her home in Co Tyrone last night.
Last night's attack against Mary McCrea was the second such incident within weeks after a suspect package was left outside her Sion Mills last month.
Last night's incident occurred at around 11.30pm when her son's car had petrol poured over it before being set alight.
Mrs McCrea said she would remain a member of Strabane DPP and that her family were 100% behind her.
Sunday night's incident was the latest in a long line of acts of intimidation against DPP members in the Strabane area. Last month dissident republicans were blamed for disrupting the area's first ever district policing partnership meeting.
The meeting in Strabane had to be adjourned twice after around 30 supporters of the 32 County Sovereignty Committee - which is the political wing of the Real IRA - movement jeered and shouted abuse at police and those attending the meeting.
