Wanted Man Stephen McFarlane Detained By Police
Police have detained Stephen McFarlane, 33, who was wanted in connection with a serious attack in Co Antrim.
Mr McFarlane was found on the Newtownards Road in east Belfast shortly before 2pm today, 15 January.
Earlier, detectives launched an appeal to trace the whereabouts of Mr McFarlane.
Detective Inspector Chris Millar said: "I would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.
"We received a number of calls from members of the public throughout our search and we are grateful for that co-operation. Our investigation into this serious assault will now continue."
A woman is currently in a critical condition in hospital after being assaulted at a property in the Ashgrove Road area in Carnmoney, Newtownabbey, on Wednesday.

A 33-year-old man has been extradited from Northern Ireland to the Republic of Ireland to face serious charges. The man is accused of assault causing harm, coercive control, contravention of a safety order, theft, and possession of a weapon. The alleged offences occurred in the Monaghan area between 2020 and 2021.
