Driver Rescued Trying To Cross River In L'Derry

The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has rescued a driver who was trying to cross the River Roe in Dungiven, L'Derry.

The man, who was driving a 4x4 vehicle, is believed to have been trying to cross the River Roe.

Emergency services attended the scene and the man was not injured, however he was left badly shaken.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.

Sunblest bakers at Allied Bakeries Ireland in Belfast have been recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records for baking the world’s largest ever hot cross bun. The bakery, which produces over 1.8 million Sunblest Hot Cross buns per year, has put the icing on the cake by entering its name into the record books.

Man Rescued From River Lagan
A man has been rescued from the River Lagan in Belfast. At around 1.20pm on Friday, emergency services were called to the scene close to the Ormeau Bridge. It was reported a man had fallen into the river but when emergency services reached the scene the man had already been pulled to safety. He has been taken to hospital.

Roads Service Ready For Winter Weather
Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has confirmed that the Department's winter service team is prepared to tackle the current cold snap. Around 300 staff and 130 gritters are ready to salt main roads, while 12 snow blowers are available for deployment if necessary. Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.
