Ms Dornan's body was discovered at her home in the Lagmore area of west Belfast after she had been stabbed and her home burnt out on 02 August last year.

A 37-year-old man is to be prosecuted in relation to the murder and arson.

The man was detained by An Garda Siochana on foot of a European Arrest Warrant. He appeared before a court in Dublin and has been remanded in custody until 22 February.

PPS Assistant Director Marianne O'Kane, who has responsibility for the Serious Crime Unit, said: "Senior prosecutors, from both the PPS's Serious Crime Unit and Appeals and International Section, have worked closely with the PSNI investigating team over recent months to expedite the prosecution decision in this case and commence extradition proceedings."
