Woman Assaulted In South Belfast

A woman has been attacked and threatened during an aggravated burglary in south Belfast.

The incident happened at a property in Beit Street at around 6am on Sunday.

The man entered the house, assaulted and threatened the woman, and then fled the scene on a bicycle.

He is described as around 6ft tall with short dark hair and was wearing a white hooded top.

The woman, aged in her 50's and registered disabled, was taken to hospital for treatment for facial injuries and shock.

Detective Sergeant McNally said: "This was a disgraceful attack on a vulnerable person and I would urge anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area or who has any information about this incident to come forward and give that information to detectives at Musgrave on 101. Information can also be given anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.

Police Renew Appeal For Information Following Robbery
Police have made a fresh appeal for information following the robbery of an elderly woman in east Belfast last month. The victim, who is aged in her 90s, was robbed in the Aston Gardens area of the Upper Newtownards Road at around 4pm on Monday, 25 April.

Man And Woman Attacked In Co L'Derry
Four masked men, armed with baseball bats and a sledgehammer, have attacked a man and a woman in Co L'Derry. The assault happened in the Oakvale Terrace area of Maghera at around 1.10am on Wednesday. The victims, aged 24 and 21, received hospital treatment, however their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
