Ballymena Security Alert Ends
A security alert in Ballymena, Co Antrim, has now ended.
A suspicious object was discovered in the Cambridge Avenue area on Monday evening.
The device was an "improvised firework", police have confirmed.
Residents have since returned to their homes.
SDLP North Antrim Assembly candidate Connor Duncan said: "The proximity of this alert to a local school is extremely worrying. The safety and security of our children should be beyond question and those who would seek to jeopardise it are beneath contempt. A youth football tournament was taking place at the time and a further 60-70 young people have been evacuated from the area as a precaution."

The PSNI have launched a security alert in Dungannon, Co Tyrone. A suspicious object was discovered in the Fairmount Park area on Wednesday, 17 January. The road has been closed and a number of residents have been evacuated from their homes. No further information has been released.

'Small Bomb' Found During Security Alert
Army bomb experts have been called to examine an explosive device found at an apartment block in east Belfast. Police said that a number of residents were evacuated from the apartments in the Short Strand Road area at about 20:00 on Tuesday night. They described the device as a "small bomb". No further details have been released.

A security alert in west Belfast has ended. Police have described the device, which was discovered in the Grosvenor Road area of the city as “viable.” A number of items have since been taken from the scene for forensic examination.

Lisburn Security Alert 'A Hoax'
Police have confirmed an earlier security alert in Lisburn, County Antrim, was a hoax. An alert began on Tuesday morning when police received a report that a device may have been left in the Flowbog Road area. Flowbog Road, Hannahstown Road and Rusheyhill Road were all closed while police checked the area. All routes have since re-opened.
