Pensioner Mugged In Comber Greenway
A pensioner who was walking on a zimmer frame has been knocked to the ground by a man in the Comber Greenway area.
The incident happened on the greenway, close to Barnett's Road/Kings Road at around 12.45pm on Friday
A man, who was wearing a dark hoody, pulled the woman's handbag and knocked her to the ground.
He then ran off in the direction of Knock Road.
The victim was left "very shaken", according to the police.
Alliance East Belfast Assembly candidate Chris Lyttle said: "I am utterly shocked anyone could carry out such an incident, particularly against an elderly woman.
"I hope the lady will be able to make a full recovery from the trauma she must have experienced. The assailant is clearly a dangerous individual who has no regard for the wellbeing of others.
"I would urge anybody with any information about this incident to contact the police."
