Major resurfacing works to begin at Parkway
Works on the first phase of a major £660,000 resurfacing scheme in east Belfast is to begin next week.
Work on the A55 Parkway (northbound), which carries up to 25,000 vehicles a day will begin next Wednesday.
The Department for Regional Development’s Roads Service said that the scheme would "strengthen the road so that it can carry today’s high traffic volumes, provide good skidding resistance and prevent the formation of surface defects improving the safety and comfort of road users".
Roads Service said it has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise inconvenience to those travelling along the route.
Phase one of the scheme is the 1.7km northbound stretch between Belmont Road and Holywood Road and the work is scheduled to take approximately five weeks to complete.
Alternative routes via Tillysburn junction and Belmont roundabout will be signed to assist the travelling public.

Local roads get record £80m spend
A record £80 million will be spent on structural roads maintenance this year across Northern Ireland. The figure was revealed by Deputy Divisional Roads Manager, Tom McCourt as he presented DRD Roads Service’s autumn report to Newtownabbey Borough Council. Mr McCourt said: "This is a huge increase in investment over previous years.

Major road works scheme completed in Co Fermanagh
A new £500,000 road works scheme has been completed in Co Fermanagh today. The A4 Ballygawley to Enniskillen Road, near Fivemiletown, incorporates a climbing lane towards the town and a right turning lane at the main Kiltermon junction.
