Negotiations Over Programme For Govt To Begin
Negotiations over a programme for government are expected to begin at Stormont today, 09 May, following the election results.
The two main parties, the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) and Sinn Féin, have two weeks to reach an agreement.
The smaller parties are to decide if they will form an opposition.
Of the 108 candidates elected to Stormont, the DUP has 38, Sinn Fein 28, the Ulster Unionists 16, the SDLP 12, Alliance eight, People Before Profit Alliance (PBFA) two, Greens two, and the Traditional Unionist Voice (TUV) and independent Claire Sugden won one each.
