Security Alert Ends In Co Tyrone
A suspicious object discovered in Strabane, Co Tyrone, has been found to be "nothing untoward".
The object was found in the Evish Road area this morning, 27 May.
Police attended the scene and the road has since been re-opened.
Sinn Féin MLA Michaela Boyle condemned the incident and said it brought nothing but disruption to the town.
She said: "People have had to leave their homes and diversions are in place at Springhill Park, Newtownkennedy Street and the Evish Road.
"These alerts do nothing for the image of Strabane. It is a great place to live and a great town to do business in and this is the last thing we need.
"Whoever is behind this alert needs to realise they do not represent the people of Strabane and stop these futile actions immediately."
