Armagh family's home raked by gunfire

A family in Armagh were shaken but uninjured when their home was raked by gunfire last night.

It is understood that four shots were fired at the house in Ard Ri Gardens just after midnight. One shot broke a bedroom window in the house, but the family were unhurt in the incident.

Police removed several items for forensic examination.

Detectives in Armagh have appealed for information on the shooting.

Family Escape Injury After Shot Fired At House In Co Armagh
A family have escaped injury after a shot was fired at their house in Lurgan, Co Armagh. The incident happened in the Ardboe Drive area on Sunday evening. A man and woman and their young son, who were in the property at the time, were left badly shaken. The front door of the property was damaged.

Co Down Man Killed In New York
A 26-year-old County Down man has been killed in a hit-and-run incident in New York. Bronx police believe Mr Bell, from Newry, may have been hit by two vehicles near a bar in the early hours of Sunday morning. Officers are said to be looking for the vehicles involved in the incident.

City building to get £20m makeover
A disused building on Belfast’s Ormeau Avenue is to be transformed into an upmarket aparthotel, bar and grillroom. Social Development Minister Margaret Ritchie today announced that Nicholas and Paul Hill have been selected as the Department’s preferred developer for the former Armagh House building on Ormeau Avenue, Belfast.
