Tourism NI Launches £80,000 Small Business Research Initiative Competition
A new Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) competition has been launched by Tourism NI, seeking innovative, real time tourism technology solutions to encourage visitors to explore more, do more and spend more during their visit to Northern Ireland.
The £80,000 research initiative will be delivered in two phases.
Phase one is calling for a short proof of concept, with up to five six-week contracts worth £3,000 for presentation of proof of concepts. This will include access to Tourism NI data. The total budget for phase one is £15,000.
Phase two will provide a working prototype which will demonstrate real time solutions encouraging visitors to explore more of Northern Ireland. The prototype should also provide Tourism NI with an intelligent dashboard that provides real time data, measuring visitors' movements around Northern Ireland, spend and experience. The total budget for phase two is £65,000.

Some 120 international buyers will meet in Belfast next Spring for a prestigious conference that's set to boost the local tourism economy. HelmsBriscoe will hold its European, Middle Eastern and African (EMEA) Regional Meeting in the city next March, a conference that last year secured a total of 1.27 billion dollars in meetings revenue worldwide.
