NISG Announce Event For New Construction Sector Regulations
The Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG) is to host an event to provide information on new safety regulations for the construction sector.
The new Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2016 (CDM 2016) will come into effect on 1 August 2016. The NISG will host a seminar to get you up to speed on the changes.
The event will cover:
• a comprehensive update on the new CDM 2016 regulations
• how they differ from the 2007 regulations
• an understanding of the impact on the construction industry in Northern Ireland
• guidance on ensuring organisations in Northern Ireland remain compliant and understand the new regulations
• the information necessary to interpret the Regulations correctly
The event will take place on 07 September at Lough Neagh Discovery Centre, Craigavon.
Registration is available now on the NISG website.

Recruitment specialists, Blue Arrow, have warned businesses not to be caught out by new Employment Equality Regulations. The Regulations, which are designed to outlaw any forms of direct or indirect discrimination against an individual on the grounds of religious belief or sexual orientation, were introduced at the start of December 2003.

Purepipe To Invest £250,000 And Create Six New Jobs
Belfast-based Purepipe is investing £250,000 and creating six new jobs as part of plans to boost sales in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland. Invest Northern Ireland has offered the company £45,000 towards its expansion which involves investing in new state-of-the-art specialised pipe manufacturing equipment needed to target new business.

New regulations to crack down on "fat cat" pay
New regulations have been announced by Trade Secretary Patricia Hewitt designed to crack down on "fat cat" pay deals in the private sector. Under the plans shareholders will have the right to vote annually on the level of directors' salaries, and companies will have to publish details of how salaries relate to performance.
