Attempted Murder Investigation Launched Following Pipe Bomb Find
Police have launched an attempted murder investigation following the discovery of a pipe bomb in north Belfast on Tuesday, 09 August.
The "viable device" was found in the North Queen Street area.
Police believe it was most likely thrown at a passing PSNI vehicle the night before.
Detective Chief Inspector Peter Montgomery said: "This incident caused massive inconvenience, disruption and upset for the local community of north Belfast and I would like to reiterate our thanks to the members of the public for their patience and cooperation during the operation on Tuesday morning.
"I am appealing for anyone who noticed any activity in the North Queen Street area, close to Spamount Street, between Monday evening and Tuesday morning. I am also interested in speaking to the driver of a White Van seen in North Queen Street, just before midnight."

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

A 27-year-old man has been arrested after a pipe bomb was found in north Belfast. The PSNI received reports that an object had been thrown in the North Queen Street area on Sunday night, 18 February. Police declared the object as a "viable pipe bomb-type device". It has been removed for further examination. The roads have been re-opened.
