Investigation Launched After Gang Attack Three Men In East Belfast

Police have launched an investigation after a gang armed with bats forced their way into a house in east Belfast and attacked three teenage men.

The incident happened at a property in McArthur Court at around 9am on Sunday, 31 July.

The gang of four men attacked three males, two aged 18 and one aged 19.

The victims sustained injuries to their head and body and were treated in hospital.

Detective Constable Whyte said: "I would appeal to anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to call detectives at Musgrave on 101 quoting reference 493 31/07/16.

"Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Disabled Pensioner Assaulted In Newry
A disabled pensioner is being treated in hospital after three men broke into his home and assaulted him in Newry. The attack happened in the Clogharevan Park area at around 2.40am on Monday. The three men entered the victim's bedroom and attacked him with a sharp implement. He received several wounds to his body and is currently in hospital.

Three youths arrested after paint bomb attack
Three youths were arrested last night after paint bombs and stones were thrown at police in Londonderry. The officers were targeted at around 23:00 in the Fahan Street area. Earlier it had been reported that a paint bomb was thrown at a house in the Fountain area.
