First Minister Welcomes £10m Boyd Bedding Expansion
A £10 million expansion announcement by Boyd Bedding in Omagh has been welcomed by First Minister Arlene Foster.
Boyd Bedding currently employs 24 people in Newtownstewart and Omagh and supplies animal bedding to the poultry and equestrian markets throughout GB.
Minister Foster attended the official opening of the company's factory and toured the extensively upgraded facility.
Speaking during the official opening, she said: "I am delighted to celebrate the official opening of Boyd Bedding's new £10million factory in Omagh. This local business now employs 24 people across two sites and exports to the UK, the Middle East and Hong Kong.
"Boyd Bedding has been a significant part of the business landscape in West Tyrone for over 20 years and it is great to see that the business is continuing to invest and grow in Northern Ireland.
"Growing and strengthening our indigenous manufacturing sector is a priority for the Northern Ireland Executive and I commend this company for its confidence in Northern Ireland and its optimism and ambition for future development.
"As Northern Ireland continues to punch above its weight in international markets, entrepreneurs like Raymond and Elaine Boyd and businesses such as Boyd Bedding are testimony of the drive, enthusiasm, skill and ability of our local workforce.
"I very much look forward to its continued success."
