Scrambler In Collision With Nine-Year-Old Boy Had No Brakes

A scrambler involved in a crash with a nine-year-old boy had no brakes, police have confirmed.

The crash happened in the Mossley Pavilion area in Newtownabbey on Monday, 03 October.

The boy is in a stable condition in hospital.

Sergeant Arnie O’Neill from Newtownabbey PSNI said: "Following on from yesterday's media appeal for witnesses in relation to this collision, I’m happy to report that we have since seized the motorcycle involved. It is currently being examined at Newtownabbey PSNI station. Note from the pictures attached that there is no front brake lever on this bike. The rear brakes do not work either."

A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Police Appeal After Boy Hit By Car In Co Down
Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses after a five-year-old boy was hit by a car in Co Down. The crash happened in the Malcolmson Park area in Magheralin just after 4.45pm on Thursday, 12 January. He is believed to be in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
