Letters Informing People Of Bin Collection Changes Dumped
Hundreds of letters informing people of changes to their bin collections were found dumped in a skip, according to Belfast City Council (BCC).
Following problems with the delivery contractor thousands of homes across Belfast either did not receive information or received incorrect information.
However, Alliance Councilllor Sian O'Neill said the BCC is working to rectify the problem.
She said: "Alliance Councillors have received an assurance from the Chief Executive that an investigation into the delivery issues will be conducted.
"We have also received reassurances that extra squads of bin lorry operatives will be working throughout this week to empty all black bins. They will then focus on the recovery of brown bins, then blue bins.
"The council has also suspended any enforcement regarding the use of additional black bin bags. These bin bags will be picked up by street cleansers to take the pressure off bin lorries, so may not be collected at the same time."
