Newcastle star backs Fair Play Card Appeal
Northern Ireland and Newcastle United star, Aaron Hughes is helping the Boys Brigade, IFA, Community Relations Council and Sports Council promote a new Fair Play Card Appeal in sport.
The appeal is aimed at promoting Fair Play among Young People and Youth Leaders through sport.
The Fair Play Card Appeal is a Boys Brigade initiative that all sports are welcome to adopt and support. The Appeal is all about getting back to the basics of Fair Play and promoting respect through sport.
IFA Community Relation Officer, Michael Boyd said that at a time when the image of sport was being tarnished by drug abuse, violence, racism, sectarianism and rape allegations, this Appeal aimed to combat the negative publicity facing sport and highlight all that is good about sport and Fair Play.
The launch of the Fair Play Card Appeal is set to take place at IFA Headquarters at Windsor Avenue next Monday.
