Eastside Awards Seek To Celebrate Achievements Of Local Businesses
Businesses in the east of the city are being invited to "celebrate their achievements" as part of the Eastside Awards.
The Eastside Awards is a new initiative aimed at highlighting and celebrating all that is good about East Belfast, whilst showcasing the contributions being made to the economic, social and community development of the area.
There are 12 categories for which entries/nominations are being sought, from those who are based in or operating in the broad East Belfast area. Individuals, organisations and businesses are asked to demonstrate, through a simple written application process, their achievements/contributions in their chosen category/categories.
The categories for businesses include:
• Eastside Award for Business Growth
• Eastside Award for Business Contribution
• Eastside Award for Digital Innovation
• Eastside Award for Education
• Eastside Award for Tourism
• Eastside Award for Food Product or Services
• Eastside Award for Contribution from the Community Sector
A panel of respected individuals from the private, public and community sectors will judge the submissions and will select the finalists, using the criteria set out for each category.
Applications close at midday on Friday 18 November 2016.

Three Belfast community groups won awards at the Pride of Place ceremony, known locally as the 'Community Oscars'. Almost 1,000 civic and community leaders from across the island of Ireland attended the IPB Pride of Place Awards in association with Co-Operation Ireland at the Belfast Waterfront.
