Interactive Events Announced For Global Entrepreneurship Week
A series of interactive events have been announced for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2016, Belfast City Council has announced.
Global Entrepreneurship Week will run from 14 – 20 November 2016, and events for local entrepreneurs include:
B:Resilient
Cyber security and resilience event for small to medium-sized businesses.
This peer-to-peer experience will focus on the importance of resilience and recovery planning for SMEs with a specific focus on cyber security, digital awareness and resilience tools. Hosted by Barclays and Business in the Community Northern Ireland in collaboration with Belfast City Council, the event takes place at Belfast City Hall.
The event will take place on Monday 14 November, from 17:30 and 19:30, at Belfast City Hall, Belfast.
Money Matters: Finance for small businesses
Are you a small business owner but struggling to get a grip on your finances? Maybe you're hoping to start a business and want to know how to get your finances in order?
This interactive session will give you an overview on what you need to know about cash flow, tax and payment options. You'll also hear from a range of guest speakers on options for sourcing finance from banks, loan funds and crowd funding.
The event will take place on Tuesday 15 November, from 13:30 to 17:00, at City East Business Centre, Belfast.
Maximising the probability of winning the sale
Many owner-managers shy away from the prospect of selling because of an inherent fear of 'failure'. This workshop seeks to provide participants with the practical skills that they need to approach the sales challenge competently and confidently.
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
• understand the imperative of thorough preparation
• be clear about the unique selling points that will differentiate them from competitors
• appreciate the importance of getting a prospective customer to engage and the value of actively listening
• approach the challenge of closing the sale with confidence
The event will take place on Thursday 17 November, from 09:00 to 12:00, at Innovation Factory, Belfast.
Go Social: How to get the best out of social media
This Go Social event will cover the following:
• types of social media: what's right for you?
• a look at Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn and Instagram – trends and audience
• how to tackle social media as an organisation
• great content – how to tell your story, engage your audience and build followers
• measuring and improving your efforts
The event will take place on 17 November, from 10:00 to 13:00, at The Hive, 15-17 Grosvenor Road, Belfast, BT12 4GN.
Belfast Entrepreneurs Network (BEN)
BEN: Journey to Success
This event has a specific focus on innovative business strategies, used by local businesses across our city, which have proven to generate exceptional business success.
By attending this event you’ll:
• hear from local business owners about how they took their idea from concept to success
• learn how these entrepreneurs overcame any business adversity that they’ve faced
• hear how innovative techniques can help you to drive your business to success.
The event will take place on Thursday 17 November, from 17:30 to 19:30, at Clayton Hotel, Belfast.
