'Spot And Stop Scams' Event Announced By Consumer Council

A 'Spot and Stop Scams' event for businesses and customers has been announced by the Consumer Council.

The event hopes to help people spot common scams and how to avoid them.

Speakers from the local Crime Prevention team, Derry City and Strabane District, PSNI, Northern Ireland Trading Standards Service, Information Commissioner's Office and Mark H. Durkan MLA will be giving advice and practical tips for businesses and consumers on how to protect and report different types of cyber fraud, telephone/postal scams.

The event will take place on Friday, 25 November, at City Hotel, L'Derry. Places at the event can be secured by contacting the Consumer Council.
