Thousands Of Tablets Seized In Post For East Belfast
A 26-year-old man has been arrested after thousands of suspected Diazepam, Xanax and Lyrica tablets, believed to be for distribution in east Belfast, were seized by the police.
The tablets were intercepted by the PSNI in postal packages on Thursday, 01 December.
The suspect is being questioned at a police station in Belfast.
Inspector Keith Hutchison said: "We are determined to remove illegal drugs from circulation and will continue to act upon any information which is provided to us. I am delighted we have taken these drugs from the hands of the criminals attempting to profit from this illegal trade.
"Drugs bring misery to individuals, families and communities. I want to warn people to be mindful of the dangers of taking illegal drugs or misusing prescription medication or other chemical products. Police will continue to disrupt and arrest drug dealers involved in the sale and supply of drugs, bring individuals before the courts and work with communities and partner agencies to reduce the threat of harmful and illegal activity."
