Elderly Man Dies After Carbon Monoxide Detected In Lurgan
An elderly man has died in Co Armagh after carbon monoxide was detected in his home.
Emergency Services attended the scene on Albert Street in Lurgan just before 10pm on Sunday, 03 December.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus found the 70-year-old man's body.
An exclusion zone was put in place and residents were advised to stay indoors while the property was being ventilated.
Police have launched an investigation.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Carbon monoxide alarms are now a legal requirement for all new homes in Northern Ireland. The law follows the deaths of two teenagers from carbon monoxide poising at a holiday home in County L’Derry in August 2010. 18-year-old Neil McFerran and Aaron Davidson died in an apartment near Coleraine.
