PSNI Probes Child Sex Abuse Claims Linked To Football
The PSNI have confirmed they are investigating allegations of historic child sex abuse linked to football clubs in Northern Ireland.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "We have had a very small number of allegations of non-recent child sexual abuse linked to football clubs. We work closely with all of the sporting bodies to ensure effective safeguarding is in place."
To date, over 50 clubs across the UK are being investigated.

Former Football Coach Arrested Over Alleged Sex Abuse Claims
The PSNI have arrested a former football coach over alleged sex abuse claims. Jim McCafferty who lives in Belfast handed himself into Musgrave Police Station. A police spokesperson said: "A 71-year-old male has been arrested by detectives after presenting himself at a station in Belfast.

The future of Northern Ireland football lies in the balance today as the deadline approaches for a response to the recent Northern Ireland Football Task Force plan.
