Man Rescued From Fire In Co Down
A 35-year-old man has been rescued after a fire broke out at a block of flats in Newcastle, Co Down.
The blaze started in oil tanks at the back of the flats on Burrendale Park Road.
Emergency services attended the scene and extinguished the fire.
Firefighters rescued the man from a top-floor flat.
Investigations are underway to establish the cause of the blaze.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.

Three rescued from blaze in County Down
Two men and a woman have been rescued from a fire in County Down. The blaze is believed to have taken place some time around 11.35pm on Wednesday at flats in Hawthorn Walk in Dromore. It is understood firefighters entered the smoke-filled flat and rescued a 50-year-old man. He was given oxygen before an ambulance arrived.

Man rescued from burning flats
A man has escaped serious injury after being rescued from burning flats in south Belfast on Monday night. The man, who was later treated for smoke inhalation, was rescued from the building in Camden Street after the fire took hold on the ground floor.

Three people rescued from burning flats
Fire crews have helped rescue a man and woman from their apartment after a block of flats caught fire in Co Antrim. The fire was spotted in a communal stairwell at the Ashley Park complex in Carrickfergus at around 9pm last night. Another man, who initially raised the alarm, was also rescued after finding himself trapped in his flat.
