IFS Global Logistics were given their award for identifying a gap in the supply chain service it was providing and others in the market. It created vendorvillage.com – an innovative web-based system that allows companies to order stock online and have it delivered immediately.
Speaking at the awards ceremony last night, Sir Stephen Brown, Chief Executive of UK Trade and Investment said: "World events made it a tough year for international trade and investment, yet despite the challenges many companies in the UK have shown an unprecedented commitment in developing their international business opportunities.
"It is a pleasure to recognise and applaud such companies whose efforts have made such a contribution to international trade. IFS Global Logistics are a credit to British business and an encouragement to all other companies, both large and small."
The awards, sponsored by Coface, DHL, and HSBC Bank plc, are a joint initiative of, and organised by, UK Trade and Investment (formally Trade Partners UK), the government organisation that provides support services for UK companies trading overseas, and Nexus Media, publishers of Export Times.
