New Grand Secretary Of Orange Order Elected
A new Grand Secretary of the Orange Order has been elected.
Rev Mervyn Gibson was appointed following a meeting of the Loyal Order's ruling body.
The Belfast Orangeman and Presbyterian Minister succeeds Drew Nelson who passed away earlier this year.
Rev Gibson, 58, will work alongside Grand Master Edward Stevenson and Deputy Grand Master Harold Henning at the head of the Institution, who were also both re-elected at a Grand Lodge meeting in Eglinton.
Rev Gibson said: "I am extremely honoured to be elected the Grand Secretary by my fellow brethren at Grand Lodge, but humbled to be following in the footsteps of those who have served in the post previously.
"Words are inadequate to describe the dedication and commitment of my predecessor the late Drew Nelson. His legacy and influence will live long within our ranks.
"I think of two family friends John McCrea and the late Walter Williams who also previously held the post, serving the Institution faithfully. I am looking forward to following in their footsteps and serving the Orange Institution as they did."

PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a serious arson attack in the Clon Dara area of L'Derry on Saturday, 23 November. Shortly before 8.20pm, police received a report that an accelerant had been used to ignite the front door and letterbox of a house in the area.

Pedestrian Injured In Belfast Hit-and-Run
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a hit-and-run incident in the Botanic Avenue area of Belfast in the early hours of Thursday morning. Officers were called to the scene shortly before 1.30am after a male pedestrian was struck by a maroon Mazda. Despite being injured, the pedestrian left the area before police arrived.

Four Arrested Following Disorder In South Belfast
Four men have been arrested following public disorder incidents in the university area of south Belfast on Thursday, November 14th. Police responded to a number of offences, including resisting and obstructing police, and assault on police. Three men, aged 18, 20, and 21, have been charged and are due to appear in court in December.

Pedestrian Dies Following Road Traffic Collision Ikn West Belfast
A female pedestrian in her 70s has tragically died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast on Saturday, 9th November. The incident occurred on Hannahstown Hill shortly after 6:50pm when two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle. Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured pedestrians were taken to hospital.
