DUP's Handling Of RHI Scheme Is A 'Shambles' - Adams
The Leader of Sinn Féin has described the DUP's handling of the botched Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme as a "shambles"
Mr Gerry Adams was speaking after First Minister Arlene Foster gave a speech at the Assembly on Monday, 19 December, addressing the scandal.
He also once again called for Mrs Foster to step aside while an investigation is being carried out.
Mr Adams said: "Sinn Féin has tabled a motion to get to the truth and restore confidence in the institutions. That will be debated in the Assembly in January. This issue is not going away. The DUP should use the time over the Christmas period wisely and do the right thing.
"The ongoing Renewable Heat Incentive scandal in the north will cost around £400 million over the next 20 years. That is much needed funds that should go to support public services at a time of Tory party cuts.
"Citizens need the truth about how the scheme was designed, implemented and managed, who benefited and why did it take so long to close down.
"Those responsible for this scandal must be held to account."

DAERA Minister Confirms Commitment to Deposit Return Scheme
DAERA Minister Andrew Muir has reaffirmed his commitment to introducing a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) in Northern Ireland. The DRS is designed to encourage recycling by offering a monetary incentive for returning single-use drinks containers. The scheme will cover PET plastic, steel, and aluminium containers ranging from 150ml to 3 litres.
