SIPTU Supports Allpro Employees In Strike Action
SIPTU have given its full support to Allpro Ltd employees in Limerick, following the first stage of industrial action in a dispute over non-payment of wages.
The protest took place at the Solas Training Centre in Raheen Business Park, Limerick. Allpro Ltd took over the State contract on 29th November last and immediately sought to make changes to the worker's terms and conditions without negotiation or agreement.
The workers have not yet been paid for the period following Allpro's takeover.
SIPTU Services Division Organiser, Rachel Keane said the union fully supports the workers.
"These five cleaners have effectively worked for this new contractor for free for the past few weeks. These workers whose families depend on their wages have been left in desperate circumstances for Christmas. They intend to keep up the protest until they are paid," Rachel Keane said.
