Woman's Car Hijacked In South Belfast

A woman has escaped injury after being hijacked in south Belfast.

The incident happened in the School Road area at around 7.50am on Tuesday, 10 January.

A man approached the woman, who was in her car, and ordered her to get out.

He made off in the vehicle, a red Hyundai i30, in the direction of the Newtownbreda Road.

The car was later found parked in the St James's Road area in west Belfast.

The hijacker has been described as aged in his late 20s, around 5ft 5inches tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a peaked cap, had a scarf over his face and was wearing navy clothing.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Woman Killed In Co Armagh Road Collision
A woman in her 30s has been killed in a road crash in Portadown, Co Armagh. The woman was hit by a car as she was walking on the side of the Moy Road at around 9.45pm on Tuesday. The road was closed for a short time but it has been reopened. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.

Road Closed In North Belfast Following Collision
The Ligoniel Road in north Belfast has closed following a one-vehicle collision. The road has been closed in both directions near the Wolfhill Road, according to the police. Diversions have been put in place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area. No other details have been released.
