FSB hail Assembly 'Q & A' session success
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) in Northern Ireland has described this week's Assembly Election Question and Answer session as a "great success".
Politicians from Northern Ireland's main political parties took part in the debate which discussed proposals for FSB's Five Point Plan.
Commenting on the meeting, FSB Parliamentary Officer, Glyn Roberts, said: “All the parties represented today pledged their support for our five-point plan and to give priority to addressing the real concerns of the small business community in Northern Ireland.
“However when the Assembly and Executive is restored we will hold those political parties to their word and expect delivery on key issues such as Insurance, Rates, Energy and Red Tape.
“All the parties manifestos which have been published for this election, so far have promised a lot for small businesses - we expect them to implement these promises when Devolution returns."
The FSB's five point plan calls on local politicians to tackle: the Insurance crisis in NI; the establishment of a NI Assembly All Party Group On Small Business; the establishment of a Small Business Unit; the appointment of a junior minister for European affairs; and that priority be given to energy and the reduction in electricity costs.

Big Stores 'Tax' Boosts Smaller Ones
A levy on large stores across NI is to go ahead - but at a reduced rate than originally proposed. The 'Tesco tax' as it has been named means that large retailers might then limit investment - and cost job creation opportunities.
