FP McCann Scoops Design And Build Contract
NI firm FP McCann has scooped a design and build project in Belfast.
The Horseshoe Bend Path Project, awarded by Belfast Hills Partnership, is located at Carr's Glen Linear Park just off the Crumlin Road.
The scheme includes the design and build of approximately 440 metres of paths across two fields as part of the Carr's Glen Path network. The path will run from a shared access lane off the Crumlin Road to an existing path network within Carr's Glen which is part of the Cave Hill Country Park.
Carr's Glen Linear Park contains areas of semi-natural woodland, along the Field Boundaries and Milewater Stream.
The objective is to re-grade and improve the existing desire line to create a user-friendly, high quality trail which is accessible to as many visitors as possible while causing little disturbance to the sensitive site.
Mallon Selected As SDLP Candidate
Nichola Mallon has been selected as the SDLP candidate in the forthcoming Assembly election in North Belfast.
Ms Mallon said: "It's an honour to have been selected by the party once again to champion the needs of the people of North Belfast. Over the course of the last eight months in the Assembly, I have worked hard to support local businesses and to address issues that acutely affect individuals and families across North Belfast – poverty, homelessness, mental health and addiction. It's those issues that are now being put on hold because of the scandals and dysfunctionality at the heart of the Executive.
"In this election, the people of North Belfast have the opportunity to say enough is enough and to make change happen. I believe it's time to deliver a shock to the political system."
