PSNI Chief Constable Accepts Flag Protest Ruling
PSNI Chief Constable George Hamilton has apologised to the residents living in the Short strand area in Belfast and others over the handling of the union flag protests.
On Wednesday, 01 February, the Supreme Court ruled that the police were wrong to allow the protests to take place.
Mr Hamilton said that he "accepted and respected the ruling".
He said: "I apologise to the residents of the Short strand and to anyone else who was inconvenienced by this parade.
"We welcome the strong acknowledgement of the Police Service's operational independence and the fact that the police must be allowed discretionary judgement in what, the Supreme Court recognised are, often very challenging and fraught circumstances. The judgement points out that the difficulties in making police decisions should not be underestimated."

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

PARADES COMMISSION REJECT DERRY PARADE APPEAL
THE appeal by the City of Londonderry Orange Lodge against the decision to ban the majority of its parade on 12 July has been rejected by the Parades Commission. The decision, released on Tuesday evening, followed a request by the Orange Order for a review of the original parade determination.

Four Arrested Following Disorder In South Belfast
Four men have been arrested following public disorder incidents in the university area of south Belfast on Thursday, November 14th. Police responded to a number of offences, including resisting and obstructing police, and assault on police. Three men, aged 18, 20, and 21, have been charged and are due to appear in court in December.
