NI House Prices 'Increase By 6%'

Property prices in Northern Ireland increased by almost 6% last year, it has been reported.

According to the NI Residential Property Price Index, prices rose in all council areas – and across all property types.

Across all property types, the average standardised price is now said to be £125,480.

In Derry City and Strabane, prices surged by 11%. This compares to less than a 2% increase in Fermanagh and Omagh. Over the year, the largest rise was in the apartment sector, with prices going up by 11%. For all other property types, it was around a 5% increase.

Elsewhere, the council area with the highest average price is Lisburn and Castlereagh (£149,600), while the lowest is Derry City and Strabane (£108,464).

In 2016, 21,669 properties were sold in the region.

NI Property Prices Continue To Fall
Residential property prices continue to fall in Northern Ireland. Over the year to the end of December 2012, prices fell by 13%, according to the latest report by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA). The Index measures change in the price of residential property sold in Northern Ireland.

Over the year to the end of September 2012 residential property prices fell by 12%, according to the latest Residential Property Price Index. Between April - June 2012 and July - September 2012 residential property prices fell by 1%.

NI House Prices Down By More Than A Tenth
Figures out today from the Northern Ireland Statistics & Research Agency show that house prices have fallen by 11% in the frst six months of this year. Land & Property Services released the Residential Property Price Index report for Quarter 2 of 2012, which is compiled from stamp duty information.
