Belfast Giants Sign New Defenceman

The Belfast Giants have signed Jérôme Leduc as their new defenceman.

Leduc will remain for the rest of the season and will be available to play in the home games on Friday and Saturday against the Cardiff Devils.

Canadian man Leduc, 24, was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round, 68th overall, of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Steve Thornton, Head of Hockey Operations, said: "We are excited to be able to bring in a player of Jérôme’s quality at this stage of the season. He will add stability to our d-corps and will also help going forward.”

"Unfortunately we received news that Alex Foster will miss a significant number of games following an injury sustained in the game against Fife and we made sure to move quickly to bring in the best possible player available."
